Former Mexican Candidate to Congress and Close EPN Collaborator Arrested in Spain - impre.com:


Rafael Celaya Valenzuela—who was a former candidate to congress for the PRI on the federal election this past July 1st representing the first district of the city of San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora—was detained by Spanish authorities this past Wednesday August 9th when he was apparently on vacation.

Rafael Celaya was arrested on alleged links with the known drug lord Joaquin Loera better known as "El Chapo Guzman."

According to the Spanish authorities, Celaya had traveled to Europe as the head of a contingent that planned to open an operations office for the Guzman cartel. These reports are supported on the basis of intelligence work in collaboration with Interpol and the Spanish and Mexican institutions.

Celaya was arrested along with Samuel Valenzuela Zazueta, Jesus and Jesus Gonzalo Gutiérrez Soto Palazuelos Guzman.
