Opening the Doors to Hope¨

We have already begun the US tour in East Los Angeles…

A coalition of national and international organizations working in defense of migrants, we have come together with the sole purpose to ¨Open the Doors to Hope¨, and we have been passing through Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Calexico in order to raise awareness about what is happening in Mexico, and we still have many cities and states to go.

The presentations have had really great reception in different local universities, on the radio, television, and in community centers of immigrant rights organizations, who have responded favorably to our call for solidarity.

We have united in solidarity with the migrants traveling through the State of Mexico, where today a humanitarian catastrophe has been developing ever since the closure of the Lechería migrant assistance shelter in the state, and where migrants have been crossing without papers and have been persecuted, beaten up, kidnapped, and in many more severe cases killed with full knowledge and even sometimes participation on the part of the State.

If there is interest in having a presentation in your town, which includes photos, videos and testimonies over the last years of the very disturbing reality migrants are having to face in Mexico, we ask you to please contact one of the organizers of this winter tour and together we can raise awareness and begin to open the doors to hope for migrants in Mexico once again.
